Wie was de man waar Martha van hield en jaren mee leefde? Nadat hij onverwachts verdwijnt, begint Martha te beseffen hoe weinig ze van hem wist en hoe zijn leven met haar slechts een schertsvertoning was. Maar in plaats van in het reine te komen met haar verlies, ontmoet ze al snel een andere man. Ze raakt weer verliefd en stort zich zonder te twijfelen in de relatie. Maar kent ze de man van wie ze nu houdt wel? Of houd ze enkel van de man die ze kent?
Hoe gaan mensen ermee om als liefde tot een abrupt einde komt? Is het mogelijk een geliefde te vervangen door iemand anders? Is het mogelijk iemand zo erg te missen dat je hem of haar terugziet in iemand anders? Het zijn de vragen die Uber uns das all stelt, en die nog lang nadat de film is geëindigd door je hoofd zullen spoken. Uber uns das all is een krachtig vertelt verhaal met indrukwekkend acteerspel van Sandra Hüller.
Regisseur van de film Jan Schomburg zal op 29 en 30 oktober aanwezig zijn op het LFF voor Q&A's na de voorstellingen.
Martha is in a happy relationship, she has a home, knows just where she belongs and shares her life with Paul, the man she trusts and knows inside out. She looks ahead and sees - the future. But then one day two policewomen appear at her door and all at once everything changes. The man with whom Martha has lived for many years is nothing but a phantom. Suddenly, Martha's life is not what it was, and nothing she knew was what it seemed. Then Martha meets Alexander, and a tiny gesture is enough to rekindle her longing for Paul, whom she now sees in Alexander. She looks ahead and sees - the past. And so there she is, in a happy relationship once again; she has a home, knows just where she belongs and is sharing her life with someone she trusts. But does she really know the man she loves? Or does she just love the man she knows?
How do people cope when love suddenly comes to an abrupt end? Is it possible to replace someone you love with someone else? Is it possible to miss someone so much that you see them in someone else? Can one's longing for a lost love engender a new one? Questions you will ask yourself long after the movie is over. Uber uns das all is a powerfull movie with a strong performance of actress Sandra Hüller at the center.
